How it helps

After a nationwide survey, we found that after the average family meal 2 to 4 plastic wrap lids are used to store food over the world. That’s more than 1.000 million plastic wrap sheets per day! By joining the Zero-Waste movement you help save the environment every day.

The facts behind plastic

Plastic takes over 1,000 years to decompose,ย breaking down into smaller and smaller pieces called microplastics that pollute the ocean and get ingested by marine fauna.

You can make aย HUGEย difference in such an easy way by eliminating your daily usage of plastic wrap.

90% of this plastic is not being recycled properly and makes its way to our oceans (which amounts for about 8 millions metric tons of plastic each year).

Ditching cling wrap is a step forward for our Earth that needs to be taken by everyone and by you, starting today.

At the rate we’re going there will be more plastic than fish in the Ocean by 2045!

Ive been slowly trying to get rid of all of the โ€šร„รฒdisposable plastic in my household. The very last reason i needed plastic wrap was covering bowls and cans for 1-2 day storage in the refrigerator. These silicon covers work like a charm! theyre easy to clean, easy to use, and fairly easy to store. FYIโ€šร„รฎthere a lot of reviews that say these don stay on. My guess is they are trying put it on too big a container. They stretch but how much depends on the sizeโ€šร„รฎthe smallest doesn even stretch an inch but the biggest stretches a few inches.. I have put them on ceramic bowls, glass bowls, and cans with no problems at all. Highly recommend!

I was very skeptical about buying these because I a little weirded out by the feel of silicon, especially around food. I cautiously made friends with them and I quite pleased now. Theyre a little strange to store because of the sort of โ€šsticky quality but they really do work well. You can stretch them for larger bowls, you can โ€šburp them to get the extra air out, and use them with carbonated cans (they do puff a bit with the release of fizz over time, but they stay on and minimize loss of carbonation). And having 12 is really a pretty good amount as I rarely run out of a particular size for a household of two. I thought all the tabs were excessive, but Ive come to really like and rely on them for making it easy to get on to a smaller bowl.

Sometimes plastic wrap or aluminum foil just don’t cut it as far as sealing an open can or bowl. That’s where these covers come in. They stretch a little so they fit even if the object isn’t perfectly round. There are nice tabs to help getting the cover on, and a longer tab to make it easy to take it back off again. Right now I have the second smallest cover on an open 15 oz. (No 300) can of nacho cheese sauce that I opened a couple of weeks ago, and keep in the frig when I’m not using it. [I’m a bachelor – just dip the chips right in the can. :-)] The sauce is just as if I had just opened the can. These are just something everyone should keep in a kitchen drawer for when a need comes up.

I hate using stretchy plastic wraps for covering food–so bad for the environment! These stretchy covers are terrific and come in multiple sizes that fit everything from a big bowl of fruit to a cereal bowl to a small glass! And I love the smiley face design! I use them constantly. Easy to wash–just a little soap and water. I dry them with a dish towel to avoid spots. Great for leftovers but have many other uses, too. Definitely recommend them!

I’m tired of using disposable plastic wrap, and my sister has some silicone lids like this. These work great on glass and ceramic. We have several little bowls that we lost the plastic tops for. It’s also great for converting regular dinnerware bowls and cups to storage, because these stretch and you have different sizes. You must dry off the lip so that the silicone grips it and stays sealed. But the stretchy silicone rubber does a great job. I just wish I had more large sizes and oval size to fit my mixing bowls and my big Pyrex measuring bowl with handle. Consider making ones to fit these!
